The Leatherback Task Force is part of the Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG) of the World Conservation Union ( www.iucn.org ). Its purpose is to bring together experts on the leatherback turtle to provide information and advice to the MTSG.

The Chairman is James R. Spotila, Ph.D. of the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. The Secretary is Frank V. Paladino, Ph.D. of the Department of Biology, Indiana Purdue University, Fort Wayne, IN. This web site is designed to provide information to biologists, conservationists and the general public about ongoing projects to study and protect the leatherback turtle.
