Injured Turltes on the Beach. October 2005.
Natural and man-made threats have resulted in several injured turltes being found by the team at Playa Grande. Some of those found washed up on the beach probably sustained their injuries during the recent hurricanes in the Atlantic.

	This juvenile black turtle had swallowed a piece of a big coffee bag that looked like algae and had the rest of the bag entangled around one of the front flippers. It survived and we released it.
	This juvenile olive ridley was found with one of the front and one of the back flippers missing.
	This late juvenile olive ridley was found with one flipper almost cut off. It later died.
